Jay practices patent and trademark prosecution, working to maximize the value of his clients' intellectual property rights. He concentrates on the strategic position of IP in the marketplace and is deft at providing expert counsel in matters of licensing and litigation.
Jay is admitted to practice in both Wisconsin and Michigan, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is currently a member of the Wisconsin State Bar, the Wisconsin Intellectual Property Law Association, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
A Boyle Fredrickson shareholder, he earned his undergraduate degrees in electrical and computer engineering and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While attending law school, Jay authored an article published in the Wisconsin International Law Journal. After law school, Jay practiced at a prominent intellectual property firm in Michigan before returning to Milwaukee in 1998.
